130mm Aluminium Base Rail x 2.5mtr with Drainage Holes

The Aluminium Retaining Bead (Item 1096) is a façade system component manufactured from AlMgSi 0.5 F22 alloy in a pressed blank finish. The profile is 2,000mm long with a nominal material thickness of 1.7mm (+0.2/-0mm). It incorporates a 24mm-wide connecting bar and pre-drilled holes to enable mechanical fixing as part of an M-system façade build-up.

It is intended for use predominantly with mineral wool insulation panels and is installed horizontally to secure insulation layers.

Intended Application

The retaining bead forms part of the M-system installation method and is used horizontally to retain insulation boards. Each new insulation layer must be connected to the previous layer using PVC retaining strips in combination with this profile and other system components.

• Impact or screw anchors

• Spacers (Art. 1071–1075)

   

Installation Considerations

The retaining bead is fixed horizontally through its pre-drilled holes. System guidance states that three anchors per linear metre must be used.

Installation considerations include:

• Ensuring the substrate surface is even; unevenness may be compensated for using spacers.

• Following system manufacturer regulations and system-specific approvals.

• Using the retaining bead together with the corresponding Aluminium Connector (1092) as part of the specified assembly.

• Connecting each insulation layer to the preceding one using the designated PVC retaining strips.
