RCM Dafa UV Tape 60mm x 25mtr

DAFA UV Tape is a single-sided acrylic tape used for sealing joints in roof underlays, wind barriers and various sheathing boards. It forms part of the DAFA AirVent System. The tape is intended for external applications where a sealing tape is required in conditions that may include moisture or variable site temperatures. The adhesive is described as highly resistant to moisture and climatic impacts.

The product is supplied by RCM (Roofing and Cladding Materials Ltd).

Material and Characteristics

The tape consists of a single-sided acrylic adhesive layer and a silicone paper liner. Technical characteristics provided in the source document include:

• Grammage of 230–250g/m² (DIN EN ISO 536)

• Thickness without liner of 0.30–0.33mm (DIN EN 1942)

• Peel value of 30N/25mm (DIN EN 1939)

• Temperature resistance from -40°C to +80°C

• Board-to-board sheathing joints

• Wind barrier and breather membrane connections

• Repairs to roofing and wind barriers

• Joints in gypsum and cement-based wallboards

Installation Guidance

Installation information in the technical data sheet includes:

• Surfaces must be dry and free of oil, grease, dust and other anti-adhesive components.

• Bonding to frozen surfaces is not possible.

• The substrate must provide sufficient load-bearing capacity.

• Primer is recommended on porous or damp substrates or at low temperatures.

• Recommended installation temperature is from +5°C.

• The tape should be applied centrally over the joint with a minimum 20mm coverage onto each substrate.

• Release paper should be removed gradually while maintaining tension-free, wrinkle-free adhesion.

• Firm manual pressure should be applied; use of a seam roller can improve adhesion.

• The tape should not be used below a 10° roof pitch.

• 10 rolls of 25m (60mm x 25m) per box

• 6 rolls of 25m (100mm x 25m) per box

• Liner: silicone paper, brown, 90g/m²

   

Handling and Storage

The technical sheet states that surfaces must be dry and free of contaminants prior to installation. Temperature resistance ranges from -40°C to +80°C. No additional storage instructions are listed.
