507 RENDAGRIP is a render bonding agent containing fine aggregate to provide a mechanical key prior to applying external render to concrete, lightweight blockwork, brick and other substrates. It is supplied ready to use, applies by roller or brush, and dries red to indicate coverage. The product reduces substrate suction and can be used on damp surfaces. Suitable for use as a single-coat bonding layer before render application on external surfaces.
507 Rendagrip Bonding Agent is a red, liquid bonding agent formulated for use beneath external render systems. It contains fine aggregate suspended within a waterproof polymer, producing an even distribution of particles across the surface. This provides a mechanical key and reduces the porosity of the underlying substrate. The product is supplied ready to use and is intended for application to concrete, lightweight blockwork, brickwork and other smooth or porous mineral substrates.

Features and Technical Characteristics
The bonding agent incorporates a fine aggregate that assists in forming a consistent key coat. The waterproof polymer dispersion ensures that the aggregate remains suspended during application, helping to achieve uniform coverage. The red colour aids visual checks during installation to avoid missed areas.

Intended Applications
The product is intended as a bonding agent for render applications on:
-
Concrete, brickwork and blockwork
-
Smooth surfaces where improved adhesion is required
-
Porous substrates where reduced suction is needed
These uses are specific to the detail within the technical data sheet and relate only to mineral substrates suitable for rendering.

Preparation
Substrates must be sound, clean and capable of providing adequate support. Surfaces must be free from dust, release agents and frost. Ambient temperatures during application must be above 5°C. If there is any uncertainty about substrate suitability, a test patch should be carried out.

Application Guidance
The product must be stirred well before use and applied as a single coat using a short-pile roller or brush. One uniform coat should be applied to avoid weak spots caused by uneven aggregate distribution. Adjacent surfaces should be protected from splashes, and any contamination removed before drying using warm soapy water.
Drying time before applying render is typically a minimum of 6 hours; lower temperatures will extend this period. The product can be applied to damp surfaces but must not be used in areas subject to constant damp. It must not be diluted and should not be used where the complete render system would exceed a maximum depth of 25mm.

Storage and Handling
The bonding agent should be stored between 5°C and 25°C and protected from frost. Shelf life is stated as 24 months when stored in original unopened containers. Packaging components, including plastic tubs, lids and metal handles, are stated as recyclable through appropriate schemes.
